Turnback Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-05

Important: This policy is written for the current and near-future version of Turnback, including planned IAA monetization. If advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, account systems, cloud sync, or new permissions are added, this policy and the app’s Google Play disclosures must be updated before release.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Turnback mobile application (“Turnback”, “the App”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). Turnback helps users record rough outcomes, review patterns, prepare better for future activities, and manage private reminder settings.

2. What data we currently process

In the current implementation, Turnback is designed to work primarily with on-device data. The App may process the following categories of user data locally on the user’s device:

3. What data we do not currently upload to our cloud services

At the current stage of the product:

4. Notifications and reminders

Turnback may use local device notifications to remind users about configured reminder times such as before-you-go reminders, evening review reminders, or weekly summary reminders. These reminders are generated from locally stored reminder settings.

On supported Android versions, the App may request notification permission. If you deny notification permission, reminders will not be shown as system notifications.

5. Photos and media selected by the user

If you choose an image from your device in order to attach it to an entry, Turnback may store a local reference to that image so it can be displayed in the App. In the current implementation, this is intended to remain on-device and is not designed to be uploaded to our cloud services.

You control whether an image is selected. If you do not want to use this feature, do not attach an image.

6. Advertising and future IAA monetization

Turnback is intended to become an IAA-supported app. This means future versions may include advertising placements and Google AdMob SDK integration. If and when AdMob is integrated, Turnback may need to disclose additional data handling practices related to advertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention, ad delivery, diagnostics, and advertising identifiers in accordance with Google Play policies and applicable law.

Before Google AdMob or any other advertising SDK is enabled in production, we will update this Privacy Policy and, where required, update the Google Play Data safety section, the “Contains ads” declaration, and any applicable in-app disclosure or consent flows.

Examples of future advertising-related changes that may require updates

7. Third-party services

The current implementation may rely on common platform or library components required for normal app operation. If a future version introduces third-party SDKs that access, collect, or process user data, including Google AdMob SDK or related ad delivery services, we will update this policy to identify the categories of third-party services involved and explain how those services process data.

8. Data sharing

We do not sell user personal data. In the current implementation, Turnback is designed to keep core user-created content on-device. If future features require data sharing with service providers or third-party SDKs, including advertising-related SDKs such as Google AdMob, we will update this policy and applicable disclosures before release.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because the current implementation is designed around local on-device use, retention is generally controlled by the user’s continued use of the App and device storage lifecycle. If you remove content inside the App or uninstall the App, locally stored content may be removed depending on Android system behavior and the storage model used by the release version.

If future versions introduce account systems or cloud synchronization, we will provide more detailed account deletion and retention information.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to reduce unnecessary data exposure in the current implementation by keeping the core experience local where possible. However, no method of software storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be absolutely secure.

11. Children’s privacy

Turnback is not designed specifically for children. If future versions are intended for children or mixed audiences, the App and its monetization design will need to comply with the relevant Google Play Families and ads requirements.

12. Your choices

13. Google Play policy alignment

This policy is intended to support Google Play publication requirements, including requirements related to privacy policy disclosure, user data handling, app content declarations, and future advertising disclosures. Developers remain responsible for ensuring the final released app behavior, Data safety disclosures, and advertising declarations are accurate at release time.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If the App’s data handling, monetization model, permissions, or third-party SDK usage changes materially, we will revise this Privacy Policy and update the effective date shown above.
